Description:
Our school is seeking a dedicated, collaborative, self-motivated, driven and faith filled Catholic leader who would teach 7th and 8th grade students in a classical setting. Preferred experience in leadership, curriculum development, and professional learning is desired in order to build a succession plan for administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess or be willing to obtain Michigan K-8 Teaching Certificate
- Education/formation in the Catholic liberal arts: a Catholic liberal arts and/or Great Books education or related is strongly desired; advanced degree in classical education/ Catholic liberal arts or related is preferred
- Support and participate in the Catholic mission and values of our school
- Integrate prayer, Catholic traditions, and faith-based values into daily classroom life
- Foster a classroom community grounded in kindness, responsibility, and service
- Serve as a positive role model in conduct, communication, and commitment to Catholic education
- Ability to be flexible and organized with a willingness to teach multiple grade levels
- Collaborative and able to communicate and work effectively with students, staff, parents, administration, and community
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
- Ability to motivate students to achieve high academic standards
- Desire to lead and train others
- An entrepreneurial spirit as well as a commitment to a recovery of the wisdom of the Catholic educational tradition
- A willingness to help with recruitment of families
- An interest and ability to speak to families—one on one, in small groups, and in larger gatherings—about the spiritual, relational, intellectual, and moral value of an authentically Catholic education that educates for Heaven and human flourishing
- A willingness to support the fundraising efforts of the school
